July 2007-Big News!

I'm still in shock! I just got a call from the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. I'm this year's winner of the Barbara Karlin Grant. The grant was established to recognize and encourage the work of aspiring picture book writers and is available to SCBWI members who have never had a book published. I will use the $1500 to attend a conference, take more classes and further my education as a children's writer. What a wonderful mid-year surprise!
